Templates
Why AC: Pirates don't deserve it's own template? Maxattac (talk) 15:48, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
- As I've mentioned, we're working on switching to in-universe navboxes. Limiting the articles that have templates in the midst of the switch saves us time later when it comes to removing them. Same thing with the ACU template. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 15:50, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

- If I can't get my internet plan upgraded, Rogue. If I can, I'll start out Rogue, then upload Unity a few days later and upload one of each every day. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 23:34, October 14, 2014 (UTC)

Black Flag present day
Storm, did you have the dialogue of Black Flag's present day missions in your sandbox? I thought you did but I couldn't find anything in any of the four. Did it get transferred to an article? Thanks for reading Crook The Constantine District 17:44, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, I moved them into 21st century conversations to make room for something else in one of my sandboxes. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 20:21, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
Charles Sivert
Hi! I wanted to talk about the recently edit-reverted article on Charles Gabriel Sivert. I understand that there may be doubts about the accuracy of the article, but I took a screenshot with my phone of the gameplay of the level by one of the game designers and used what information I took from the video. I am confident that my information was secure, as it was in an official single-player gameplay video that was released (it is one of the videos on the page for Assassin's Creed: Unity). If the information is somehow different in another rendition of the game, the picture at least is 100% official, as it was taken directly from the video. Since you are an administrator, I will do what ever you wish, but I simply ask for your consideration about at least keeping the image (or, better yet, restoring my edit). Thank you! Saving Private Ryan (talk) 00:18, August 19, 2014 (UTC)
- Hey SPR, I appreciate you contacting me instead of just reverting. First, as indicated in the message I left on your talk page back in December, all images uploaded to the wiki must be sourced on the image itself. However, as you've just admitted to taking the picture with your phone, the image is deemed low-quality and will not be used; if you can find a high-quality version of that image, you can upload it with proper sourcing. Onto the other matter: the information. Many of released demos for AC games have either not made it into the final game or have been altered in some way. While we are aware that Sivert is a Templar in the game, anything else in the demo could be merely for the demo's sake and not canon. Again, thank you for taking the time to talk to me about it. Properly tagging image source?
Hi there, I recently uploaded a couple of images and didn't source them properly (sorry about that) but after reading the image rules I'm not sure if they're allowed. They are the artworks for the soundtracks, the source is iTunes and I can get anything from there in the absolute maximum resolution for you.
Please let me know exactly how to tag or even if I should and I get right on it - just want to help! —unsigned comment by TheTrueHeresy (talk · contr)
- Hey, TheTrueHeresy. Thanks for contacting me about this; I know the image-sourcing policy can be a bit confusing. Truth be told, I avoided uploading images, when I first started out, just to avoid having to deal with all the red tape. I can help you out with one of them and you can go from there.

This is the template used to source all images. Simply edit the image and place it in the source code; be sure to remove the Delete template I have placed on it. As far as the actual "source" criteria, if there's an available website to backtrack to, make sure to include it; it helps if users other than yourself can find where you got the image. The message I left on your talk-page should help with any general questions you may have, but if it doesn't, don't be hesitant to contact me again. Also, remember to sign your posts with ~~~~. Hey there, I had a go at uploading the first OST cover again with your advice - please tell me if it's up to standard. I am trying to get the exact URL of the image and can update that as soon as I've found it also? If this one's OK I'll go ahead and upload the rest - there's a few that aren't on the Wiki at all so far. --TheTrueHeresy (talk) 21:01, August 26, 2014 (UTC)
- Looks good. I made some modifications, so all that's missing is the actual iTunes site, which you can edit into the link. Also, there's no need for the Attention slot, since it's not an edited version of a previous image or anything of the sort. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 21:13, August 26, 2014 (UTC)
Sunset Overdrive
Okay, it shouldn't be in the main page because it relates more to SO than AC. So, how about the trivia section? There is none now, but it would definitely make sense to make one and put that in there. It has to do with AC at least somewhat, right? OutrightUndead (talk) 04:27, August 31, 2014 (UTC)
- Not really, because again, that point focuses on Sunset Overdrive. You could Google the "controversy" and find numerous articles from different developers, celebrities, or websites giving their own two cents. Each has about as much reason to be in place of that one, and all of them don't have much of a reason to be on the page. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 04:32, August 31, 2014 (UTC)
Grammar (periods inside quotations)
I recall you saying that periods don't go inside quotations. While, without even searching, I found two articles with the opposite style in place (A.K.A. the proper way of writing).
Coolguysdontlookatexplosions (talk) 05:48, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if there's actually a policy on this. The wiki uses American spelling, that much I know. However, a lot of the frequent contributors here have been taught to use British spelling and grammar. I for one refuse to adopt the "periods go inside quotations" system, because it does not make sense from a grammatical point of view. The only situation when it's legit is the following:
- "I don't know what you're talking about," he said.
- Because here we are talking about a full sentence. However, American grammar insists on always jamming comma's and periods in between quotation marks, even when it's blatantly obvious that those comma's and periods are not part of the semantic content that stands between quotations marks. They serve a grammatical function in the overarching sentence, not that one piece of quoted material.
- I'd hardly consider American grammar the proper way of writing, merely a way of writing. Crook The Constantine District 07:49, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
- Lol. He never told me there was an actual policy on it. He just said, "You can check other articles if you want. We use the other version to what you're used to." Coolguysdontlookatexplosions (talk) 17:02, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
- "We" refers to the wiki as a whole, meaning, in most cases, that there is a policy involved. I thought there was a forum vote for a it at some point, but I can't seem to find it in Nesty's archives. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 17:05, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Japanese surnames
Storm, Japanese names start with the family name, followed by the first name... You've been categorizing Japanese characters under their first name. The same applies to Chinese names. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:32, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, Sima. I'm not well-versed in Japanese/Chinese surname usage. I'll remember next time. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 16:52, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
