Source forum and main page link
I tried making a forum for my sources, but my iPad makes a mess. And i don't know who to go to. So here i am. And for the main page. I think you can find a place for the link to the news blog.
I'm not gonna make a new blog for each time there is new news, but just change the title and the forum is needed for a place to a my old news/sources. The new news get updated in the blog and the previous news is put in the forum. The blog is going to have a link to the forum. And the forum is my little problem. --ACsenior (talk) 18:07, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
- We're not putting up a special forum on the main page just to list every piece of minor news. Any news that's worth being on the main page already gets on the main page. You can make a blog to collect all this news instead, but it won't be on the main page. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:47, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
I'm ok with that, but what i meant is that i only need a link to the blog. The blog is supposed to have a link to the forum. Not asking for a "special forum". Only help to make one and a link to the blog(can skip the link to the blog from the main page).--ACsenior (talk) 19:53, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

"American Revolutionary War" substitute
Hi, Sima; is there an acceptable alternative to "American Revolutionary War" that we should use for things that can be done at any time during Assassin's Creed III, such as buying a flintlock pistol? Because it's starting to feel silly saying "obtainable during the American Revolutionary War", when it can be done outside that time. --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:40, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
- I am personally very much against that whole settings-oriented stuff. "In the Thirteen Colonies during the 18th century" or something like that? Lots of stuff to use. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:50, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
Wiki design help
I know this is not about the AC wiki. Well, technically, it is. I got control of this wiki recently. And I want to know how to put front page news blogs on the home site like the AC wiki has. I know about blog lists, but I don't know how to embed one into the front page. Can you help me? Thanks! Aegis RunestoneSpeak to me 17:41, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Hmm, I guess I could help you out, but I'm no really no coding wonder like other users are. It'd take me several times to figure it all out and implement it there. So again, I think that it'd be better to go to Vatsa or Odran for this. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:13, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I'll ask one of them. :) Aegis RunestoneSpeak to me 19:09, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
Periods
I happen to agree with you fully, but I thought that it was our way to use periods on captions.
There was this proposal, but I don't think it was finalised. So, should periods on quote and image captions be removed? --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:37, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not in any position to just say what shall be and what shall not be. Right now I don't think we have any clear rule set up. I figure that in the near future we will have to address this. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:40, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
- I'm just gonna pop in here to say, this is not what I expected when I saw this section title in the RA feed. Also, I recall Jasca waging war on fullstops in captions a few months back, and they ended up staying.--Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:43, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
AC3 chronology
Help me out here: I rewatched the epilogue missions and Davenport Homestead and Evacuation Day take place in 1783, with Connor meeting the Daniel Boone-lookalike in the village afterwards. There's no date for that scene but the dialogue with Connor asking where everyone's gone makes it seem like it takes place before he talks to Juno again. What do you reckon? Alientraveller (talk) 13:14, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, correct. He wouldn't say "Why would they leave this behind?" when he sees the Crystal Ball, only to be shocked later when he finds that everyone has left the village. Same with Davenport Homestead, there's no way in hell that it takes place in 1783. That one's gotta be set right after burying the Grand Temple Key. I have no idea why they just threw these in afterwards, and in a non chronological way. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:02, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
Are there are any other chronology issues you have with Connor's article? --Alientraveller (talk) 15:09, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
The Naval missions; the ones with Biddle and the lack of Peg Leg missions. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:10, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
- Well with Biddle, I had moved up the fort attack to the start of 'Hunting the Templars' while placing a note later on that Connor met up with Haytham after Church and Biddle's deaths. However, if you want I could section off Connor's confrontation with Biddle. --Alientraveller (talk) 15:21, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
dont the naval missions all have a date in their opening?Malice419 (talk) 15:17, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, but my problem is that they aren't featured at all on Connor's article. Connor obtaining the Shard of Eden is quite relevant. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:18, March 31, 2013 (UTC)
The new section on Connor's page makes it even more non chronological than it was. Hoping from 1773 to 1777 to 1769 etc. Not pleasant reading. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:45, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

How do you think the article is now? Also, check out a paragraph I've written in my sandbox discussing Connor's other activities, which are undated so I hope that approach is fine. --Alientraveller (talk) 17:24, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
Renders
So, I've found some absurd-res images of Rodrigo, Cesare and Lucrezia, all good to be rendered. Since we've used superior images, rather than database ones for some character infoboxes, shall I render these?
Uno Dues Tres --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 12:42, April 4, 2013 (UTC)
Rendering them and putting them on pages will always be good, of course. As for replacing them with the current infobox images. I don't know, may be a bit inconsistent. I'm fine with it, but ask what Vatsa thinks. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:51, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Question regarding subtitles/in-game text
Apologies if this is stated somewhere in the MoS, for I have failed to see it. How strictly do we follow the subtitles/in-game text while quoting them? Down to the typos and the stylistic choices regarding emphasis? Sadelyrate (siniath) 16:32, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
- We don't have any policy regarding this. But we don't copy typos, because that doesn't really raise this Wiki's quality. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:44, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
- What of emphasis? Is there a general preference for that? Sadelyrate (siniath) 17:10, April 16, 2013 (UTC)
Categories
Hey, Sima. You may be sick of these, but I'll keep going until one of us dies. We have a "historical characters" category, should we also have a "historical events" one? Just a thought. --Crimson Knight Intercom 23:39, April 20, 2013 (UTC)
- When I have the time to implement the in-universe categories, the "historical characters" category will go. No need to really add a "historical events" one. Besides, the majority of the events are historical. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 23:41, April 20, 2013 (UTC)

I'll have to retract my earlier statement, apparently my complete save exploded on me, and I have to start from scratch, unless I find a replacement. So these images will take a wee bit longer. On the up side, I'll be able to replace all the low-res AC1 crap for the modern day sections. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:53, April 26, 2013 (UTC)

- Yes. You can see that a lot of them are on the exact same spots as the original map. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:07, May 3, 2013 (UTC)
- There we go. Al's codex map is woefully inaccurate, being hand-drawn and all, but I think these are in proper enough places. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:26, May 3, 2013 (UTC)
- Now that is much better to work with. Great work 2.0. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:38, May 3, 2013 (UTC)
Iran
You are aware that Persia was a name for Iran used by outsiders right? Or does the Encyclopedia refer to historical Iran as Persia (in which case, I'll defer to it since this is an AC Wiki). Alientraveller (talk) 17:09, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, the Western world referred to it as such. I don't recall "Iran" being used anywhere aside from in regards to the Iranian Revolution in 1953, but I do recall Persia being used. EDIT: Just looked it up and the Iranians called it Iran since circa 1000, so let's use Iran instead. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:16, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
Hey, Sima,
You know that in Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, in the modern section of the game, you play as a member of Abstergo Entertainment?
Well, I reckon that there could be a little plot twist in the storyline revealing the player as a Assassin sent to infilitrate Abstergo Industries (I hope so as well). But you never know.
PS: I apologised to Amnestyyy, I know what I did was wrong and unforgivable, but I could not live the rest of my teenagehood with that on my conscience. Amnestyyy forgave me, but that does not mean to say that you have to do the same.

Two questions
First - I saw that you have slight aversion to memories being classed as 'side', and I see your point. Should we re-class these with how they're labeled in-game? Like Investigation/Thief Assignment/Race/Templar Lair, etc.
Second - Slate recently removed the alias from one of the Race memories' opening paragraph, and I also agree with that one. Since we refer to Al by his full name, I don't see why Ezio's shouldn't have the 'da Firenze' there too. It also makes for less hassle with creating an alias while making new memory.
Thoughts? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:24, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
- First - Yes.
- Second - I am not quite sure what you mean. You mean we should only refer to Ezio as "Ezio Auditore da Firenze"? I only remove the "da Firenze" part at certain moments when it fits better in the context or when it makes reading unpleasant.
- -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:36, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Nah, here's an example - "San Gimignano Dash was a virtual representation of one of Ezio Auditore da Firenze's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus."
Most memories ommit the 'da Firenze', leaving only Ezio Auditore in place. I think we shouldn't do that, for consistency's sake. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:38, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Also, as I perceive it, you should refer to Ezio by his full name in the first instance, and after that "Ezio Auditore" can suffice. It gives the text a bit of formality. Slate Vesper (talk) 15:40, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:45, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
- M'kay, I'll get to this later today after adding courier memories. My chief editor Slate will probably be there to add formality to these too, which I appreciate. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:47, May 4, 2013 (UTC)

Assassin branches
While I understand that "Roman" may allude to both the Roman Empire and Roman Republic Assassins, the reason I thought it could have been renamed was because while they operate during certain time periods, Rome itself falls under Italy and we have "Italian Assassins" seperately, and yet the Ottoman Assassins are contained under Turkish Assassins despite the time period of Ottoman rule being quite significant.
Not to mention the fact that there various sects of Colonial Assassins, but the page itself only contains Connor and Achilles' branch. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:42, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- It may not allude to both, it does. The demonym used for both the Roman Republic and Roman Empire is "Roman" - the people were "Romans", not "Roman Republicans" or "Roman Empirians". It just is what it is; if people are confused into thinking that it refers to the solely the Assassins in Rome, which is weird because they are not a separate branch, then the article itself would clear that up fast enough. The reason why I did not name that other branch "Ottoman Assassins" is because the article contains information from the Assassins in Turkey during Byzantine rule as well, hence why I used the demonym "Turkish" to refer to refer to the Brotherhood in and around Turkey throughout the ages. Calling the page "Ottoman Assassins" would be inaccurate, unless you want to make separate "Byzantine Assassins" and "Ottoman Assassins" pages. "Colonial Assassins" is the name given to the Brotherhood in the Thirteen Colonies via the AC3 database. Agaté, Aveline and Gérald do not fall under the same Brotherhood if only evidenced by the fact that they have separate Mentors, but also because they are not connected to one another - they don't fall under a single leadership and are not aware of one another's every move. The naming issue is Ubisoft's fault. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:52, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, that's reasonable, but considering the point about the Colonial Assassins, does that mean we should possibly create the page for the French Colonial Assassins and Caribbean Assassins? After all, with AC4BF upcoming, it might be enough of a reason seeing as Edward might fall within the latter. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:01, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- French Colonial Assassins is appropriate on the condition that the article is good, I previously deleted one because it wasn't. Hold up on Caribbean Assassins because we still have to see if the Assassins don't have a different Brotherhood on each island there (since a Mentor could not possibly oversee all Assassins on those islands), or if there even are other Assassins there (Edward could have been trained in Great Britain or somewhere else). -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:11, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- I honestly doubt Edward was trained in Great Britain. Most of the info coming out for Black Flag seems to point towards the Assassins discovering him after he began his bout of piracy in the Caribbean, and then training him in their ways. After that, he could have packed in the piracy and settled in London with Tessa, before the Forsaken events play out. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:18, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- I am not saying I find it likely, I'm just listing its possibility. On a side not, Basilisk was not a Grand Master, he was a de facto leader. The position of Grand Master was vacant in 1190 (as the Encyclopedia emphasises), and ACAC backs this up by not calling Basilisk a Grand Master. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:20, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- Does this mean he could be a Master Templar then? I'd assume that being in charge of the Templar Order wasn't something handed out freely, and while Ahmet and Basilisk may not be GMs, the Master Templar page we have only has examples of modern-day Templars with no individuals from previous time periods. If you're unsure though, could you ask Darby or Corey? Slate Vesper (talk) 21:32, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- If we're unsure, it's better to not add it. The rank of Master Templar could not have existed back then. I've never had contact with Corey, and Darby did not write Altaïr's Chronicles (I don't actually know who did). -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:54, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
Centering captions
I normally center the captions to give the article a more presentable look. It's something I've been doing for a while now, and I haven't had many complaints. :S Slate Vesper (talk) 23:46, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
- And I have been positioning them on the left for as long as I can remember, and I did not get any complaints either. I don't see why we would center the captions in galleries. We don't center the captions in normal thumbnail images either. Or center the entire text in articles. Feels like the prologue of a Star Wars film. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 06:07, May 6, 2013 (UTC)
- Well, first I put the images in the center because it filled up more of the space in the gallery section and kept the articles somewhat streamlined, but then the captions looked a little awkward being to the side, so I centered them to keep them synonymous with the pictures themselves. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:51, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Ahmet the G-Man
So, I've read through the Grand Master talkpage and saw that you once advocated Ahmet to be put there based on the Yerebatan Cistern line. Doesn't seem like it passed, even though I agree with that reasoning and would opt to add him to the page. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:42, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
- Afterwards, I spoke with Darby about it, and he said that he did not write Ahmet to be the Grand Master. He admitted that with that Grand Master line in the game he created some confusion; I don't know if he meant to refer to Ahmet or somebody else, though, but we've no reason to list Ahmet as a Grand Master now. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:57, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
Featured Articles on Call of Juarez Wiki
Hello Master Sima Yi, it's Foreborn, the beurocrat of the Call of Juarez Wiki (one of your allied Wikis), you might recall we've spoken a time or two before. I'm sorry to bother you when you're so busy running the Assassin's Creed Wiki, but I've been trying to implement a random featured article system on the Call of Juarez Wiki and unfortunately, I don't know how. I've mentioned before that I started out a couple years back barely knowing anything about Wikia, and this is one of the few things on Wikia I still don't know how to do, and I realize it's probably very simple but I'm at a loss. Everything I've tried does nothing but drive me further up the wall, I'm at my wits end. As you of course know, the AC Wiki already has what I'm trying to implement on its own main page, and I figured you and your crew would know how this function works. I really hate to bother you, but this is my only recourse.
Thank you for your time,
Foreborn (talk) 00:15, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
- Hello. What exactly is it that you have problems with? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:54, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
- What I'm trying to do is have a list of articles (from a category that will be called "Featured Articles"), and one will be selected at random everytime someone visits the main page, and be displayed with a short description and image, and a link to the full article (like on your main page). Unfortunately, I seem to be all thumbs when it comes to figuring out just how to do that and there's practically no information on the internet on how to implement such a system.

- Popping in to say it looks nice, though skin tone's just slightly off. Just my opinion on it. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 03:50, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
- I know, it's probably because I had to lop off a head from a different image and adjust it by hand, so it's not 100% perfect. I might as well just warez some sort of modeling/posing software over the vacation and make couple of renders for us instead. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 05:00, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
- It's still a fabricated render, so my opinion on it is nay. Just use renders when they are given, or else take an in-game picture. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:41, May 30, 2013 (UTC)
A wee bit of update - I've spoken with the guy who made the original image, and he agreed to help us out with fullbody posed models to render out as infobox images. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:13, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

SIKHS
Hello Master,
I have long played the Assassin's Creed games starting with the very first, and have read every single book. I love the series and am a great fan. Although I'm in love with this ambience, it hurts me to know that I have no place in it. It is my utter request that you make an article on Sikhs and their role in this realm. It would be greatly appreciated by all Sikhs accross the world and we would feel much happier to know that we had roles and were apart of something even greater than life itself.

Query Regarding Infoboxes
Hey Master, The bit of Fan Fiction I am writing relates very much to the history of the United Kingdom, and after reading through the information on the United Kingdom page on this wiki I wondered what the rules and reg's were regarding info boxes on fan fictions and more importantly if I would be breaking any rules If I essentially used the info box from the above page on my own, with some minor adjustments. The idea is that the country in some ways is the main character in my story and like how a character page has an info box with relevant info I think this would be helpful to my page.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, --The Lobster Back (talk) 20:28, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

AC:I NDA on Wiki
How strictly do we, as a wiki, follow the Initiates' NDA? Sadelyrate (siniath) 08:05, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
- We follow it as the NDA requires of its applicants. The information has not been publicly released, and we don't need to encourage the breaking of the NDA when the people working on Initiates will eventually ask us to remove the information anyway. I'll talk to some people working on it though. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:13, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
- I asked about this because the Davenport family painting that currently graces articles on the Wiki sports the Initiates logo quite clearly. However, it's a higher quality version of a picture seen in ACIII.
- If it were me, I'd have waited until the assumed lifting of the NDA to post it, just to play it safe. But since it's 'merely' higher quality of media already available, I'm not sure if it's covered by the NDA. Sadelyrate (siniath) 10:53, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
- I agree, I'm not really sure either. I'm also a bit conflicted about it, since Initiates also uses images from the Wiki and put the Initiates logo on it. While they are from their games, they don't really mention that the images were taken from here or taken by a specific user here. I think that if that really poses a problem, we will hear about it. :) -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:01, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Master Sima Yi, I asked you a question on the Forum:The Russian Revolution page, detailing where it should begin and where it should end. What are your ideas on this and also different locations to explore? Also thanks for reminding me about Nikolai's retirement from the order before the revolution took place. (I guess then that Daniel can't get a backstory after all in a main game). TRENNER0007 (talk) 08:30, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
I'd say have it begin somewhere around 1914 and end in 1919. Include the Russian theatre of World War I as well as the Russian Revolution. I'm not very knowledgeable about Russian history so I would not know what good locations would be. Saint Petersburg should definitely be in it though, and surely Moscow could find its place in it too (what with the Library of Ivan the Terrible being located there). And yes, I don't know if Daniel could get a game about him. Mostly because he is already over and done with, but also because in AC3 he only seems to talk Russian, indicating that he has only spend time with his Russian ancestors, the Orelovs. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:46, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I understand you don't know much about Russian history, would you like me to tell you about the revolution as well as what events led to it? I am studying the Russian Revolution.
(Also going back to locations, Yeketarinburg would need to be in it as well, because the Romanovs were executed there) TRENNER0007 (talk) 08:25, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Ships, cannons, swimming
I hate to bug you again as if you are my mentor but I was hoping for feedback for my sandbox on work regarding ships, swimming, and my suggestion to propose moving mounted cannons to cannons given most cannons are mounted anyway. I'd do it since silence typically suggests no objections. Alientraveller (talk) 20:07, July 22, 2013 (UTC)
Ships looks good, but I again see a lot of focus on what the Assassins did rather than the real nature of ships in the text; what the Templars and Assassins did with ships is not very important to the article subject. Also maybe tone down on the amount of images, you only need so many to get a point across. ;) I am not very sure about the necessity of the swimming article; we don't need any article on walking, running and falling etc. either. Go ahead on renaming the mounted cannons article; it's long overdue. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:16, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Deleting an image
Hi, I was just wondering, can an image be marked for deletion?
I was searching for images for Antioch, and found some online, most of which were already uploaded here on the wiki. However, some of them were higher resolution than the ones currently available on the Wiki. I thought I'd just upload the higher resolution image and then mark the older for deletion, but I don't know if that's actually possible... You are able to delete images, right? If so, please delete "Capture the Flag.jpg", which is the older, lower-res image. On the articles in which said image is used, I'll replace it with the higher-res image ("Antioch - Artifact Assault - 1.jpg") I uploaded today.
I hope this is okay ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 10:02, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
- You can mark the old one for deletion and upload the new one if it's higher res. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:41, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should've looked harder. I've marked the lower-res image for deletion and edited all the articles in which it was used. Crookandcharlatan (talk) 11:46, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
Knight's Hospital
Hi, about the 'unsourced' information you deleted. I didn't put that there, but I did find the place they got it from: http://www.ign.com/wikis/assassins-creed-revelations/Knight's_Hospital . It's almost a literal copy of what is said there. Because it's IGN, I wasn't really sure if that information came from a trustworthy source... The bit I added in (in the "history" partition) came from a Wikipedia page:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Rhodes_(1522) . Would it be alright to restore my version with sources added in? Landmarks infobox
Hi. Do you have any idea why we have two landmark infoboxes: (Landmark Infobox and Landmarks Infobox)? Both seem to be in use of numerous different articles. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:34, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
- I have no idea. Both were made by Subject 16* in 2011, I don't know why. Would you be able to tell which of the two is more commonly used? Though perhaps we should go for Landmark Infobox, with the singular term, for consistency with the other infoboxes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:47, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed. I'll set up Landmarks as a redirect, although it may mean a handful of incorrectly formatted infoboxes on articles that will need to be fixed afterward. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 08:53, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Sovereignty and Partition
I think it would be very historic if the assassins creed gaming industry , made an assassin that is in Ireland under the sovereignty, partition and the ruling of the united kingdom. if they made a game were u stand as a republican fighting for the Irish and the brotherhood . Take the 1900's up as far as 1940's were Ireland got independence. You could include the 1913 Lockout, 1916 rising (including the excecutions of the 7 leaders that lead the rising), The IRA and the War of Independence, The negotiations of the Treaty, The Civil war(which also brought on the excecutions of politicians, members of the IRA and the death of Irish free state army officers) and The Origins of Northeren Ireland

Altaïr's outfit
How outfits work
Hey, long time no see. Glad you're still running it here on the Wiki. Me being a big fan of Altaïr recently made a change on the Assassin's II outfits page. I was writing about Altaïr's outfit, because most of the game, when I replayed it in Scotland recently, I just wore it. So basically with an outfit like Altaïr's you can't see you armour any more. It just works as a skin. Anyway, I wrote that when you pose as a Borgia guard carrying the chest, you don't see yourself as a guard, but still as Altaïr. But others have reverted it, one saying that this is not how outfits work. I'm not sure what they presume. Not taking it personally, but do they think I'm lying? Or that my eyes deceive me, despite that this already happened several times on different platforms? Doesn't it make sense that you can't see your guard outfit, simply because you're still wearing the Altaïr outfit, which also hides armours you wear. I'm sure it also even hides the masks you wear on the Carnevale, though I can't confirm that, because at that point I wore Altaïr's armour, so I could see both masks you wear. But yeah I couldn't take a screenshot. I don't know how on the Xbox360 anyway. And the problem with ACII, as you well know is that you can't re-visit memories. -- Altaïr 16:26, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
- I believe the trivia bits on all the outfit pages already mention that they override the default ones in the memories. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:28, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
- I didn't see it. And I just re-read it. It mentions the other glitches (like the second hidden-blade not being visible, that in some cutscenes it reverts back to the armour you wear etc...), But it doesn't mention that other outfits, like the Borgia armor can't be seen. And if it was written down, why not just mention it, instead of saying that what I wrote was not correct. -- Altaïr 16:37, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
- Heya Altaïr, glad to see you still stop by occasionally. Yeah, then I don't see why it would need to be removed; if it's not on there, make sure it is. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:12, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
- Glad to have your approval. Take care and cya around! -- Altaïr 18:38, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

If that "one guy" is me, Al, I said that IS how outfits work. There are two outfits that can be worn in Assassin's Creed II. If you wore the "Bonus Skin", I'm sure you'd have the same result. That's why I removed it, as that's just how outfits work, and you only mention Altaïr's robes. Stormbeast ♉ The Helpful Place 01:25, August 22, 2013 (UTC)
- It's not just you who removed it. There was somebody else leaving no explanation. And yes I did quote you, because I'm just surprised. I explained the two missions I recently played where I saw Altaïr's outfit, instead of the guard uniform you should be seeing, so I thought that was worth noting on the wiki. But I just edit here from time to time. And I didn't have proof. So I understand you were sceptical about the data I placed there. I don't know how other outfits work, like the bonus skin you mentioned, which I did try on this new version. And that seemed to work more like another dye of Ezio's default uniform to me. So, I think the bonus skin and Altaïr's outfit work differently compared to each other. -- Altaïr 04:59, August 22, 2013 (UTC)
LOL
You mean I don't live on an island? I've been living a lie! :D I guess the island category is more appropriate for if we create articles for the British Isles. Country =/= land.
Anyway, I've been meaning to ask, what's your thoughts on notability? I noticed some characters and places in Project Legacy don't have pages, is there a reason for that? --Alientraveller (talk) 19:19, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
Well, the United Kingdom itself is a kingdom, not necessarily just the island comprising Scotland and England. And no, there isn't a real reason for that; if it exists in the universe and has sufficient information, then it is deserving of its own article. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:21, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Parent Filter
Hi, Master Sima Yi!
I wanted to swing by and let you know of a new feature we've recently released for interested sites. It's called the Parent Filter and can be accessed through adding /wiki/MediaWiki:ParentFilter to the end of the site's url.
The purpose is two-fold: 1) to provide information to parents about the site's subject from people who are actually very familiar with the content and 2) to eventually provide a home or hub for all such pages parents can visit.
Here's a great example of the feature put to use.
You can learn more about it here. Feel free to throw any questions or comments you might have into that blog.
Best regards,

Video Sweepstake Page?
Hey there Sima Yi!
So recently Ubisoft wanted to reach out about hosting a sweepstakes for the Assassin's Creed community that could potentially give a random winner a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One. We'd have to host this on an article page though, as it features a video embed. I wanted to reach out today to see if that's something the AC Community would allow and if you could protect the page for the length of the sweepstakes. Let me know if you're interested. If not, we can try an alternate route.
Thanks Sima, Jorge <staff/>(profile)•(talk) 00:03, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

Deleting blog comments
Sima, whilst I appreciate your efforts to keep comments on your blogs "on-topic", I don't think deleting those comments you deem to have offended the rules is the right way to go. Besides the fact that it completely deletes any record of the user's contributions, it also leaves, in my honest opinion, a whiff of censorship in the air.
Clearly, this is my personal opinion, and you're free to acknowledge or ignore it as you see fit, but I thought you should know. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:06, October 11, 2013 (UTC)
- With people treating blog comments like Facebook or YouTube comments and people coming here with the sole purpose of 'chatting' with other users via blogs, I am going to write out a blog policy proposal this weekend with which I hope to see a diminishing amount of what I consider to be pointless and short blog comments that, in my opinion, have been ruining the wiki lately. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:16, October 11, 2013 (UTC)
Wiki rename proposal
Honestly, a wiki as big and with as good of information as this one, in my opinion, needs a more recognizable/notable name than "Assassin's Creed Wiki", which I feel is too bland for a wiki such as this one.
I'm just proposing a rename, but I only have one name idea that comes to mind: Abstergo Archives.(NOTE: This is just an idea that came to my head at the moment; feel free to change it, if you do at least think about this proposal) Why? Well, because it sounds like a good name for an Assassin's Creed database; not to mention that you guys seem to use a few Abstergo themes in your design (ex: the Abstergo logo in your article category boxes).
You can ignore me, or you can at least consider it. I will tell you that, statistically, Wikia hosted wikis that have a unique name tend to be more active, notable, and popular than wikis with a bland name only composed of the name of the subject-topic of the wiki with "Wiki" thrown to the back of it. To back up my claim, I will list wikis that are/were ("were" being for the wikis that forked/split and lost popularity) very popular, with their wiki name probably playing a huge part in said popularity:
- The Vault / Nukapedia - a wiki about Fallout that had a jaw-dropping amount of traffic prior to their split; Wikia was probably earning a crap-load of money during those days. And even after the split, the wiki still has a huge amount of traffic, but I highly doubt the wiki would have attracted so much traffic if it wasn't for it's unique name.
- WoWWiki - Now I know this wiki doesn't really have a super unique name, but something about a simple "WoWWiki" got people going. WoWWiki used to be Wikia's "poster wiki" if you will. The amount of people who visited this site is just... "wow". Though the wiki is pretty much dead now, it was once a place where a person would edit once every one/two minutes.
- Wookieepedia - I can't leave out Wikia's sci-fi holy grail; Wookieepedia is almost never called "Star Wars Wiki". For this wiki to have been founded so long ago and to still be so active is amazing.
- Halopedia / Halo Nation - not really hard to believe that a wiki about Halo was once great, with someone editing there every, I guess, four minutes most days. Things went down there that caused a split, and now, though still popular, the wiki is pretty much split in traffic.
- Combine OverWiki / Half-Life Wiki - though nobody visits it much anymore, the wiki used to be quite popular. But, things happened, they lost one of the best content editors I've seen in my life (a guy named Klow; he added most of the content you see there) and another amazing user who acted as the wiki's tech-admin (a guy name Bramblepath; he came up with the name as well, if I'm correct). After that, the wiki went down the drain in traffic, and they didn't even come up with a long-lasting replacement name.
Now, I know most of that was kind of like a Wikia history lesson (I got a little carried away; this is a wiki about history anyway lol), but those were once (and some still) very popular, high-traffic wikis.
I hope that I have persuaded you to at least see what the rest of the community thinks about the idea of changing the wiki's name. I think it would be highly beneficial to the wiki, giving the wiki the traffic/attention it deserves. ~Anonymous 00:52, October 12, 2013 (UTC)
- An interesting thought. I'll think about it and discuss it with others, but it's not a decision we'll make lightly. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:16, October 13, 2013 (UTC)
Sultans of Egypt category
Sima, I want to recommend that you could rename the category page of Sultans of Egypt into Rulers of Egypt because in my opinion, it is more precise if you say rulers rather than Sultans.
Cheers,
