To access a cheat, simply replay a memory. Once in a memory, players can pause the game, enter the options menu, and select a cheat from the Cheats sub-menu. The cheats that the player wishes to enable must be chosen and applied.

* The Cheats concept is similar to that of the [[Animus]] [[Animus Hacks|Hacks]] featured in ''[[Assassin's Creed II: Discovery]], ''as well as the Upgrades for ''[[Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines]]''.
* While activating the "Buns of Steel" cheat the player will not lose any health except for fall damage gained from jumping off a very tall building. An example would be jumping off a building that has a great height, such as Galata Tower. Players desynchronize once they hit the ground.

In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, several cheats can be activated after achieving 100% synchronization for all of the memories in any given sequence. They can only be used while replaying a memory and will disable progress from being recorded.
