The Island's location

When editing Chinese Wiki, I supposed that Xiao Hu's family was come from Japan in the content of Trivia. But we are still having no idea where were they from. Geographically speaking, the southernmost point of Japan is also located to the north of Macau. In fact, for Macau, the island at the end of the sea to the east could be the island of Taiwan or the Ryukyu Islands. Just a few years before the story happened, the expansion of Ryukyu led by Shō Shin was still in full swing.
