Its nearly definitely not a bug they (Ubisoft) probably kept it in to make the game more...challenging or there is a small chance that Ubi accidentally left it in and the [[Guards|archers]] think the ground is like a...roof like in the cities. Glitches

Archers Attacking blending riders (Kingdom)
(Okay this is my first action in any Wiki page, so bare with me if i do it wrong.)
In the article it has been written that the guards do not attack you if your in blend.
But i have experienced that in kingdom (assassins creed 1) if you pass a archers tower while blending the archers will engage you.
I don't remember they did first time i played though, but now i cant blend pass a archers tower without being engaged.
Could it be a bug?
In any case i think the matter should be mentioned
