:Wasn't it stated somewhere (Database entries for Syndicate, maybe?) that all over the world, at different times, same ideas popped up? As in, there are Assassins in Egypt (Origins), in Greece, in Mayan culture...and they have preciously little (apparently) to do with each other, before 'meeting up' somewhere down the line.
