I think that'd be interesting. The italian renaissance was about as near to modern times as I cared for, anyways. ~Shyanmar 14:23, January 23, 2010 | I think that'd be interesting. Whoever added the reference for WW2, thank you, thank you, thank you. This wiki is absolutely full of speculations! Remember that you can't easily abuse adding references. So please ppl use them more often. Piratehunter (Talk•Contribs•Logs) 10:13, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Having it be in WW2 is rediculous. What is it going to be next Call Of Duty : Assassin's Creed 3?
- To be honest, I don't think it will take place in World War II. That one's a bit out there. The most supported outcome is modern day. Desmond already has all of Ezio and Altair's skills, and he needs to protect the temples or the earth will be completely razed like it was in the past. This leads me to believe this:
- The setting is apocalyptic. Desmond will travel the world to locate the temples of the gods/goddesses and restore them. All the while, the sun will be growing more and more unstable. If Desmond fails, the Earth meets its end and the gods will be unable to restore it again (as Minerva mentioned that they had lost too much of their power at the end of ACII.)
- As for the templars, there are two possibilities:
- They don't know what's coming and simply continue attempting to build their new world
- Their vision of the new world involves utter destruction
- Now, should Desmond succeed, the world will be saved. Vidic will most likely be the final boss to face, leading me to believe #2 in the templar possibilities. He could have a line like this:
- "Desmond, you fool. Humanity is far too ignorant for its own good. What have we created? War, killing, and stealing."
- See how easy it would be? Think about it.-Neo (T) (C) (Home) 02:18, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
What should be put on this article?
I think we should only write possible settings the developer spoke themselves and not speculations, even from the game's information. With all the time periods and locations that have been seen in the game, it would be endless...--PhantomT1412 23:39, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

It has been said that it would star ezio
confirmation
Ubisoft's new Assassin's Creed game will again star Italian hero Ezio, Ubisoft has confirmed - and will be created by the same studios behind AC2.
The publisher today revealed that the story of the game will be a "follow-up" to AC2.
It has also been revealed that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be released in March, 2011 - Killer garry
Thats not the third game, it an expansion or "epilogue" to AC II (J.h.jaraub 17:19, January 17, 2010 (UTC))
this is direct from ubisoft website-
The 2010-11 fiscal year will see a greater number of franchise releases than in 2009-10, including Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction™, a new game in the Tom Clancy™’s Ghost Recon® series, Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands™, Driver®, Raving Rabbids™ 4 and a new episode of Assassin’s Creed®, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.
so it seems like there will be a side game. - killer garry
AC3
it could be in WW2 cause it would have a good plot. You try to assassinate Hitler and his staff, who are secretly Templars, from finding a piece of eden to win WW2. It could be based on real assassination plots, like the July 1944 bomb plot. Since multiple countries tried to assassinate him, you could play as alot of different assassins from different countries. that would be awsome.
- No it couldn't. I believe it was the... uhh... storywriter(?)... who said that it wouldn't be set in WWII. And guys, remember to sign your posts with ~~~~... -- Master Sima Yi 17:37, January 17, 2010 (UTC)
- its still a good storyline, maybe for assassins Creed 4, if they make it, hopefully with guns too, probably a hidden pistol with a silencer. And I dont really care what anyone says its still a good plot. Third Echelon 22:48, January 17, 2010 (UTC) Third Echelon 22:47, January 17, 2010
- Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing it personally either. It has already been stated in AC II that Hitler was a Templar and was killed by Assassins. They said they wouldn't give it this time era as they want to let players explore other time periods in history. -- Master Sima Yi 07:36, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

cool idea
What about the 1920s? Like mafioso and stuff? Al Capone could be an ally and Elliot Ness a templar?
- Yeah, Capone as an Assassin could be cool. The Untouchables as Templars as well. However, except for that there isn't much happening at the time. -- Master Sima Yi 07:36, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
AC3
In an interview with Patrice, he said it could be in WWII era, but his personal favorite idea is that of Japan. And yes, the scriptwriter, Cory, said that as long as he is writing for Assassin's Creed it will not be set in WWII era, so unless Ubisoft wants to fire their scriptwriter, its not going to be in WWII. 98.112.8.159 01:20, January 19, 2010 (UTC)Chess
This *rumor* about feudal Japan is been going since AC1 was released. I personally don't like it. Anyway, do you have a link to your source? -- D. Cello 01:22, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
I quoted it wrong actually. It wasnt Patrice, it was someone else that works with ubisoft. And it wasnt a personal favorite, it was a general favorite... but heres my source... 98.112.8.159 01:47, January 19, 2010 (UTC)Chess

I would love a Feudal Japan storyline. I know quite a lot about it, as my interest rose after playing Samurai Warriors. I could easily see Oda Nobunaga become the main antagonist. He's usually portrayed as a cruel man and he was very fascinated about the Western culture, so in the game universe he could possibly have turned to a Templar. If he would be the antagonist, we would get one interesting final battle... the Incident at Honnō-ji, in which Nobunaga was rebelled against by Akechi Mitsuhide. -- Master Sima Yi 12:36, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- I think Feudal Japan will be awesome! *_* I'm kinda hoping that the story will be more into Classical Japan such as Heian period, although that is so unlikely cuz Heian period took place even before Third Crusade =/ - SilverSummonerTaLk 14:31, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Hm... the Heian period is also a good choice. Seeing Taira no Kiyomori as the main antagonist is a good idea. But I don't think it falls under Feudal Japan. I thought Feudal Japan was from the Azuchi Momoyama period to the early Edo period. -- Master Sima Yi 15:49, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- That's why I said Classical Japan :D it took place before Third Crusade, if I'm not mistaken. - SilverSummonerTaLk 15:58, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

- I believe it ended about 2 years before it with Kiyomori's death. So it is highly unlikely. Feudal Japan seems more logical as there would be about 2 generations between Ezio and the new ancestor. -- Master Sima Yi 16:01, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Indeed it is. But honestly, Desmond has no Asian features at all O.o new character, perhaps? - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:03, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

- Well, if the ancestor would have married a Western woman, and their child(ren) would, and so on and on, I'm pretty sure you won't see any Asian features again. Got me? XD -- Master Sima Yi 16:06, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- haha... XD yeah I got you~ but I think the features will still be visible up until 3 or 4 generations (this is purely based on observation XD). Unless 400 years is enough to build more than 4 generations, Feudal Japan is not really suitable cuz Desmond has no Asian features and thus will make some plotholes~ XD you know what I mean? - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:26, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Agree with Silver, 400 years can hold about 5 or 6 generations (sometimes more), but Desmond ain't got nothing asian. Maybe they will move to Elizabethane England or Industrial Revolution or something like it, to make Desmond irish descendant and go to EUA. Although... we got any proof he's really american besides the language and accent? -- D. Cello 16:47, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

FYI
FYI
Assassin's Creed 2's sales have reached 8 million worldwide and Ubisoft is wasting no time on the game's follow-up. Assassin's Creed 3 was announced last month by Ubisoft in a press release and they revealed that it would out during the 2010-2011 fiscal year. During a third quarter financial call, Ubisoft has revealed more details about the game. We already knew that it would include a multiplayer mode and that it would again star ACII's Ezio. Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guilletmot announced today that the new game will take place in Rome. He stated that this time Ezio will "strike directly at the heart of the Templars order in Rome". He also mentioned the game's multiplayer mode that "players will also be able to challenge their friends in a very innovative assassination multiplayer." We will have to wait to see exactly what that will mean when more details are released.
We expect Assassin's Creed 3 to be here hopefully this holiday season but no official date has been given yet. I'm sure we can probably expect it to be announced for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC like previous games.

- Altough the site says it's AC3, the Ubisoft press release only states it's a new episode. Until we have a confirmation from a Ubisoft Release with the name "Assassin's Creed III" in full letters, it will be considered a spin-off, not a sequel. -- D. Cello 17:13, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
