Biography

After a new wave of Vikings had landed at Kent during the early 890s, Æthelred and his brother-in-law, Edward pushed them back. In 893, Æthelred's army fought against the Vikings commanded by Hastein in the Battle of Buttington, and forced them to flee into Essex.[1]
