Æscwine's tomb

Æscwine (died 676) was King of Wessex from 674 until his death.

In 675, Æscwine fought and defeated King Wulfhere of Mercia for control over Sussex. After Æscwine's death a year later, he was buried in a tomb mound in the south of Essex.[1]
