The Hongwu Emperor (21 October 1328 – 24 June 1398), born Zhu Yuanzhang, was the founder and first emperor of the Ming dynasty of China.

In 2014, Abstergo Industries had gathered information indicating that a member of Hongwu's court, a Confucian scholar, was a Sage.
