Xenophon of Athens (c. 430 BCE – 355/354 BCE) was an Athenian philosopher and historian.[1]

A student of Sokrates, Xenophon witnessed his mentor's trial in 399 BCE and later recounted the event in one of his texts.[2] Xenophon also wrote the biography of the Spartan king Agesilaos, where he also expanded on the roles of the two kings and the ephors in Spartan politics.[3]
