The wild pigs (Sus scrofa) are descendants of domesticated pigs. When domesticated pigs escaped their pens they ended up living in the wilds. After breeding, their offspring is known as wild pigs.
During the Golden Age of Piracy wild pigs roamed the wilds in the Bahamas, including Nassau, Mariguana Island, Cape Bonavista, and Great Inagua. Pirate Edward Kenway often hunted wild pigs for their pelts.[1]
