Vár was a goddess associated with oaths and agreements in Norse mythology.

Vár had a totem named after her in the popular dice game Orlog, played during the 9th century. The piece "Vár's Bond" would heal the player in accordance to the favor () spent by their opponent. The Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan acquired the piece after defeating a player in Wincestre.[1]
