The Vaticano district was one of the four districts of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber River and the location of some of Rome's greatest landmarks, such as the Basilica di San Pietro, the Capella Sistina, and the Castel Sant'Angelo.
History
In the 16th century, Ezio fled from the Basilica di San Pietro and the Vatican guards with the help of his uncle Mario. Later, after obtaining its location from Lucrezia Borgia, Ezio raced to the Vatican to obtain the Apple before Cesare Borgia got a hold of it.
It was the only district in Rome that didn't include any shops and it was the only district that did not need renovating. It was the smallest of the four districts in the city, and there were two doctors and two pigeon coops. The Vatican district also housed a Lair of Romulus. Ezio could not access the district via the use of tunnels, as it could only be accessed via the Centro district or a gondola.
