The Vaticano district is one of the four districts of Rome, and a location in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It is found on the west bank of the Tiber River and is the location of some of Rome's greatest landmarks, such as the Basilica di San Pietro and the Castel Sant'Angelo. In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it is the only district in Rome that doesn't include any shops other than Doctors, and the only district that does not need renovating. This is the only district Ezio can not access via the use of tunnels. The Vatican district also houses a Lair of Romulus.
After the events of Assassin's Creed II, Ezio flees from the Basilica di San Pietro and the Vatican guards with the help of his uncle Mario. Later, after obtaining it's location from Lucrezia Borgia, Ezio races to the Vatican to obtain the Apple before Cesare Borgia gets a hold of it.
Trivia
- The two highest structures in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the Basilica di San Pietro and the Castel Sant'Angelo, are both found in this district.
- This is the only district that cardinals can be seen in outside of missions.
- Strangely, when Ezio crosses the border that seperates the Vaticano District from the Central District, the sky's color changes greatly. Why it is so, is yet to be clarified.
