I misinterpreted his mother's scroll which read as "Teti, the wife of Minhotep" when in reality "wife of Minhotep" referred to Teti's mother as well... confirmed by Teti's own scroll

Teti was the son of Minhotep, a man who was remembered by the people of Siwa, Egypt as a great leader who presided over a time of prosperity. His mother Agathoclea was similarly honored for her brilliance. All three were buried within the Mountain of the Dead in separate chambers after their deaths.
