The Temple of Dionysos on Naxos Island

The Temple of Dionysos was a temple located within the Ariadne's Fate region of Naxos Island, Greece.

Dedicated to the god of wine who had been born on the island, Dionysos, the temple housed several festivities celebrating him each year. The Naxians hoped that they would make the god look favorably upon them, and bless their vines and wine production. During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra visited the temple.[1]
