Tax Collector's Mansion

The Tax Collector's Mansion was the home of the Abbasid Caliphate's regional tax collector in the Karkh district of Baghdad.

History

In the 860s, the Alamut Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq infiltrated the grounds of the mansion after discovering that a tax collector named Suhail, who was part of the Order of the Ancients under the cryptonym "Al-Anqa", was behind the recent attacks and robberies against foreign merchants. Basim entered the mansion and found Suhail impatiently waiting for his men to return with the money they had been sent to collect.[1]

Basim assassinated Suhail and then investigated his quarters, learning that the tax collector had been ordered by an unknown superior to raise the taxes for merchants, with the money earned this way being used to fund a blockade at the harbor.[2] Before leaving the mansion, Basim found a chest, opened it, and acquired an upgrade schematic for the Abbasid Knight outfit.[3]
