Synch Nexus

A Synch Nexus is the moment achieved when an individual who has begun experiencing the genetic memories of an ancestor concludes their observations, with nothing left to see or experience. This occurs when the descendants next ancestor is born.

Known Occurence

In the year 2012, after the events following the retrieval of the apple, Desmond Miles fell into a coma after stabbing the Assassin-turncoat Lucy Stillman, whilst under the influence of Juno. Returned to the Animus to sustain him, Desmond "awoke" in the Black Room, an Animi's safe mode, where he met the visual representation of Animus Project Subject 16, Clay Kaczmarek. Clay eventually told Desmond that the only way to escape from the Animus was to achieve a synch nexus, the complete conclusion of his ancestor's memories.

Desmond then began to relive the later memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze, as he searched for the Masyaf Keys that would, in turn, allow him to relive key moments in Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's life.

Completing the memories of Ezio, Desmond achieved a synch nexus and was pulled into the "nexus of time". Once there, Jupiter elaborated on the location of the Grand Temple and the First Disaster. He also charged Desmond with going to the Grand Temple.
