Suleiman I (6 November 1494 – 5/6/7 September 1566) was the tenth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, from 1520 to his death in 1566. He is known in the West as Suleiman the Magnificent and in the East, as Suleiman the Lawgiver. Suleiman is also the nephew of Ahmet.
At the age of 17, the future Sultan was installed as a provincial governor by his grandfather. Suleiman became a secret ally of the Assassin Order, and learned a lot from the Order's Mentor, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Additionally, Ezio saw a lot of potential in Suleiman and noted that he would become a great man one day.
