Subject 1 was the first participant of Abstergo Industries' experimental Animus Project.
Sometime prior to 1981, this individual was made to view the genetic memories of his ancestor – Aveline de Grandpré – while they were recorded by Abstergo. Eventually, in 2012, the memories were used as the basis for Abstergo Entertainment's video game Liberation. Subject 1 died of a seizure, whilst in the Animus.
