"Silvestro Sabbatini. Claims to be noble. Dresses the part, but poorly. He is a panderer, buying his way into social circles. Speaking with a black tongue."
―A description given by Fiora Cavazza.[src]

Silvestro Sabbatini was a slave trader, and a member of the Templar Order loyal to Cesare Borgia. Though he claimed to be a noble, Silvestro was little more than an infamous panderer, using any means necessary to ascend the social ladder.[1][2]

He also appears as a playable character in the multiplayer mode of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, under the title of the Nobleman.[2]

Biography

Working for the Borgia

Sometime prior to 1503, Silvestro failed in his service to Cesare, and the Captain General sliced off his left arm as punishment. Afterwards, however, Fiora Cavazza was sent to him bearing a mechanical arm crafted by Cesare's personal blacksmith, representing his second chance.[1]

Silvestro at first disdainfully objected that the device lacked ornaments, mentioning that he wanted more jewels and rare metals upon it. Though when Fiora offered to return it to Cesare instead, Silvestro quickly snatched it from her, and attached it upon his shoulder.[1]

Returning to Cesare's service, Silvestro began working as a slave trader based in the Colle Palatino, kidnapping the people of Rome - men, women and children alike - and shipping them out of the city by boat.[1]

However, despite this second chance, Silvestro continued to be extremely sensitive over the loss of his limb, once contemplating on killing a woman who asked him if he feared Cesare, because of what he had done to his arm.[2]

Death

In 1503, the Assassin Ezio Auditore chanced upon a crying boy, whose mother had been taken by Silvestro and his men. Deciding to free the slaves, Ezio tracked Silvestro down in the Centro district, and followed him to his base at the Colle Palatino. Once there, Ezio sent his Assassin recruits to kill him.[2]
