Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye (died c. 887), born Sigurd Ragnarsson, was a Norse Viking warrior and king of Denmark.
Biography
Avenging Ragnar
When his father, Ragnar Lothbrok was killed by King Ælla of Northumbria,[1] Sigurd and his brothers Halfdan Ragnarsson, Ivarr the Boneless, Ubba Ragnarsson, and Björn Ironside plotted their revenge.[2]
Legacy
Sigurd and his brothers were mentioned by Halfdan in 876 to Eivor Varinsdottir when he reflected on his lost brothers.[2]
Behind the scenes
Although no connection is made in series, some traditions have Sigurd through different lineages as the great-great-grandfather of Harald Fairhair and the great-grandfather of Harald Bluetooth both who feature prominently in Assassin's Creed media.
