Seamus was the son of Karl and Aileen Bock. Around 1980, his mother led Abstergo Industries' Surrogate Initiative and a sample of Seamus' DNA – referred to as DNA Sample SB1970 – to relive his genetic memory. Using the Animus, his mother relived the memories of Seamus' grandmother Miriam Kurtz during World War II.
