The Sarissa was a variation of the Sarissa spear used during in classical antiquity. Due to its long-range capabilities, the armies of Macedonia used the weapon to secure a range advantage over their enemies. The spear was later adopted by soldiers of the Ptolemaic dynasty in the 1st century BCE.
In 48 BCE, one of the Phylakes known as the Stranger made use of one such spear. The Medjay Bayek of Siwa acquired the spear for himself after eliminating the Phylake.[1]
