The San Giovanni District was a district of Florence. It was the central district of Florence and was also the smallest. The San Giovanni District also had many landmarks, such as the Santa Maria del Fiore, the Palazzo Auditore and the Palazzo della Signoria to name a few. It was also the oldest part of Florence and was named in honour of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of Florence.
