Runa was an Anglo-Saxon girl from Eurvicscire, England who lived in the 9th century.

Biography

In the 870s, Runa and her sister, Rilda, lost their mother recently as they lived with their father in a home near Olikana Tower. One day, the girls found a trinket in the tower's waters as their father went to retrieve it. However, the girls' father drowned in the process. Soon, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir came and saw the girls, who asked her to aid them to get the treasure in the water. Eivor dove and retrieved the bracelet for them, and the girls then asked if their father was alive. Eivor decided on whether to tell the girls the truth.[1]
