Roland (died 15 August 778) was Charlemagne's legendary military governor.[1]
In 886, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan found and claimed his famed sword Durendal for herself while aiding Sigfred's efforts in laying siege to Paris.[1]
