The Pylos Military Camp was a military camp in the Bay of Hades in Messenia, Greece. It laid near the border of the Exile Hills in the northwestern part of the region. Very near to the coast of the Aegean Sea, it provided a good view to watch for enemy ships.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killing the captain of the camp, burning the war supplies within it, and claiming the valuables found therein.[1]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The name of the camp references the small city of Pylos still found in Messenia in modern times.
