Biography
Years ago, Photina married a sailor named Meliton. Her husband gave her his medallion necklace before he went sailing. When he failed to return, Photina assumed he was dead..[1]
In around 428 BCE, Photina met and fell in love with Barnabas, captain of the Adrestia. She tattooed his back and braided his hair during the months they spent together.[2] Eventually, they parted ways When Barnabas was called back by his co-captain, the Spartan misthios Kassandra, to sail to Sparta. As a parting gift and as a token of their time spent together, Photina gave Barnabas the medallion that was given to her by her husband.
