Philip Shahbaz (born on October 16, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, United States) is an American actor. He is known for voicing the character of Altaïr in Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed Revelations (during flashback sequences of Assassin's Creed events). The son of an Arab mother and an Iranian-American father, he has studied drama and taken classes for 6 years. The three years of his study were dedicated to acting, and the other three years were dedicated to a voice-acting drama class.
Besides voicing Altaïr, he has also played minor roles in TV-shows, such as, 24, Californication, and Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Trivia
- The name Shahbaz is of Iranian/Persian Origin. Shahbaz is an Iranian Eagle (Shah=King, Baz=Open Wings) living in the famous mountains of Iran. Persians used this bird specially for moving important news and letters throughout the empire, quite similar to Altaïr's name.
- He is the only actor who has voiced Altaïr more than once.
