Peter Chamberlaine (1660s – 1719) was a British Commodore in the West Indies.
Biography
During the Golden Age of Piracy, Commodore Peter Chamberlaine was assigned to assist Governor Woodes Rogers with his reforms and helping him in issuing King George's pardon to pirates, allowing them to be absolved of their crimes. Chamberlaine, however, had a burning hatred for pirates, as well as for his civilian superior, and decided to take matters into his own hands.
During the reforms on Nassau, Chamberlaine suspected a revolt was being planned. He had his men prepare to take down all the pirate ships in Nassau's harbor to prevent everyone from escaping the island. However, before he was able to issue the orders, he was assassinated by Edward Kenway.
