The Origins of the Karyatids was a ruined shrine in the Lykosoura Highlands in Arkadia, Greece. Situated on top of a peak, this shrine was eventually occupied by Followers of Ares members.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the Followers of Ares, found an ancient tablet, and claimed their valuables.[1]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The name of this location references the Caryatids, female statues used as columns in architecture, most notably in the Erechtheion on Athens' Akropolis.[2]
