Onitake Shrine

Onitake Shrine was a Shinto shrine situated in southern Miyazu Bay in Tamba, Japan.

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke discovered a cave beneath the shrine after finding the aftermath of an ambush where Hosokawa Fujitaka's men were killed. Inside, they caught sight of Shinji, who was interrogating one of Fujitaka's men. Confronting him, they assassinated Shinji and acquired a katana Silver Ace and a message from fellow conspirator Mai.[1] Later, they traveled up towards the shrine itself and paid their respects at two of its smaller shrines.[2]
