Niall Hobday (died 1872) was a constable of the Metropolitan Police Service of London, England from 1870 until his death. Described as "not the brightest spark" in the force by Inspector Frederick Abberline, Hobday became embroiled with the Templar plot to steal the Voynich manuscript.

In 1872, Templar agent Alice tracked down some pages of the manuscript to the British Museum in London. She used her contacts with the Blighters to extort Hobday into becoming her accomplice, using his debts to the bookies as leverage. Because of Hobday's failure in locating the pages, he was killed and dumped into a gutter at the Strand.[1]
