The Mozzi family was an influential [[Bank|banking]] family in [[Florence]], [[Italy]], during the [[Renaissance]]. [[Maria Auditore da Firenze|Maria Mozzi]] was born in 1432 as the daughter of protective parents, a situation she found restrictive. Eventually, her parents reluctantly agreed to her wish to start a business and allowed her to open a bakery within the family palazzo. A week after the opening, she met [[Giovanni Auditore da Firenze]] there. The two formed a close bond and married in 1452.
