Moses was, according to the Hebrew Bible, a religious leader, lawgiver, and prophet, to whom the authorship of the Torah was traditionally credited. He was the most important prophet in Judaism, and was also considered an important prophet by Christianity, Islam, the Bahá'í Faith, Rastafari, and many other faiths.
Moses' staff was in reality, the Staff of Eden, which he used to free the Israelites from Egyptian rule as well as his most known feat of 'parting the red sea'. He was the first known member of humanity to possess the Staff of Eden.
