Monument of the Eponymous Heroes

The Monument of the Eponymous Heroes was a monument in the Agora of Athens, Greece, depicting the ten heroes representing the tribes of Athens cast in bronze.

One of these eponymous heroes was Pandion, who also had a sanctuary dedicated to him in the Akropolis Sanctuary.[1]

In classical antiquity, it was used as a podium where official documents, including the list of military contingents, were posted. During the Peloponnesian War, the monument was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
