Merlin (Welsh: Myrddin) was the druid mentor of King Arthur during the 6th century.

Sometime after Arthur's death, Merlin took his sword Excalibur and hid it in an ancient cave. Where it would remain until it was claimed by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir during the 870s.[1]
