Marie Levesque was the wife of [[Thomas Levesque]], and was a merchant like her husband. Her family was a part of the [[Templar Order]] since the [[Third Crusade]], and she was the only one who argued against the exile of the powerful Templar [[Francois-Thomas Germain]]. Marie threw in with him during his plot against [[Francois de la Serre]], and in 1792 participated in intrigues involving the stealing of food from peasants. In the summer of 1792, [[Theroigne de Mericourt]] and the Assassin Arno Dorian killed her assistant [[Flavigny]] to stop the riots in [[Les Halles]] caused by the stealing of bread from the people, and in October Arno found out about her involvement in plots by stealing orders from the captain of a grain barge at the Hotel de Ville docks. The orders told Arno that she was at the Palais Luxembourg, where she stored the grain. The people believed that the royal family had hoarded the grain, adding to the sentiment against [[Louis XVI of France|Louis]] that could place the Templar [[Maximilien de Robespierre]] in power.

Her family was affiliated with the Templar Order since the Third Crusade, and she was the only one who argued against the exile of the powerful Templar François-Thomas Germain. Marie threw in with him during his plot against François de la Serre and in 1792 participated in intrigues involvin the stealing of food from peasants.
