Maria Christina of the Two Sicilies (27 April 1806 – 22 August 1878) was Queen consort of Spain from 1829 to 1833 and Regent of Spain from 1833 to 1840 through her marriage to Ferdinand VII.

On 15 July, 1834, Maria Christina signed a Royal Decree which definitively abolished the Spanish Inquisition.[1]
