The Makedonian Lion was a legendary lion which inhabited the top of Mount Athos of the Chalkidike peninsula in Makedonia, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
Around 422 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra discovered the lion and eliminated it.[1]
