Madame Beaudry worked as an apothecary and was a rival to Dr. Samuel Maran. However, her business ran on buying tonics from her competitor, diluting her purchases, and reselling it to more people at cheaper prices. Beaudry was then confronted by Maran multiple times for her practices but did not allow his opposition to stop her business.[1]
