Lutetia Bureau

The Lutetia Bureau was a Hidden One bureau situated in the former Roman town of Lutetia Parisiorum in what is now Paris, France.

History

Likely founded during the days of the Roman Empire, Lutetia was one of the bureaus established by the Hidden Ones in Roman Gaul alongside the ones in Champlieu, Diodurum and Gisacum. The bureau also housed the Joyeuse, a short sword wielded by the Carolingian Emperor Charlemagne.[1]

Through her journey through West Francia, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan read a correspondence letter from Frankish rebel, Pierre, detailing the Hidden Ones' symbol found in Paris. Traveling through Paris, Eivor found Lutetia underneath Paris' grounds and discovered a dead French soldier with another letter. Detailing his fellow soldiers' plan at other ruins, Eivor noticed three keys were needed to open a locked door and followed suit to investigate the Champlieu Ruins, Diodurum Ruins, and the Gisascum Ruins.[2]

After collecting the three keys from the other ruins, Eivor returned to Lutetia and opened the door. Wandering and searching around the abandoned bureau, Eivor discovered a breakable wall. Breaking through the wall, Eivor noticed a chest on a table, but it was surrounded by snakes. Maneuvering through the snakes, Eivor opened the chest and retrieve the short sword, Joyeuse. Leaving the room, Eivor went back outside the unlocked door and noticed a new letter on the ground. The letter summarized to honor the gift that she found as Eivor deduced that some Hidden Ones remained in Francia. Eivor honored their wishes by not looking or disturbing them.[2]
