Which is this: Connor was out camping one night, most likely after the war, when Washington confronts him saying that he is disturbed by the dreams that come from an Apple of Eden, that he found at the end of the Siege of Yorktown. Connor goes to take it from him, but when he touches it, both are transported into the reality that Washington was talking about. Connor gets to the Apple, which is the source of Washington's power, in the alternate reality and the Apple in the original reality gives off a bright flash, which both are knocked down by. Washington then demands that Connor sinks the Apple into the ocean.
