Livia (died 1500) was an Italian woman lived in Rome with her husband during the Renaissance.
In 1500, Il Carnefice, an executioner who served under Cesare Borgia, forced himself onto Livia, and later had her hanged and her body displayed at the Piazza di Spagna. Livia's husband was threatened by Il Carnefice to be hanged as well if he were to cut off the rope to Livia's corpse. Sometime later, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze came across the husband kneeling in front of the piazza, agreeing to assassinate Il Carnefice and avenge her death.[1]
