Lindisfarne is an island off the Northumbrian northeast coast of England.
History
In January 793, the island was where the first recorded Viking raid took place. During the raid, one of the Vikings who participated in the raid fought against and defeated a Saxon warrior, whom he then offered the chance to join his clan. However, the Saxon, overcome with grief, cried out that God had abandoned his people and that nothing remained but chaos. Pitying him, the Viking raider killed the Saxon without a second thought.[1]
Sometime in or before 2014, the Master Templar Juhani Otso Berg relived his Viking ancestor's memory of the raid.[1]
Behind the scenes
In Assassin's Creed: Rogue, Lindisfarne is erroneously spelled "Lindsifarne".
