Lerion was a mythical king of Britons, who was claimed to have lived and ruled in the 8th century BCE.
The story of king Lerion and his three daughters, Goneril, Regan and Cordelia, was still alive in the 9th century CE, when the Viking Eivor learned about it while exploring the British Isles.[1]
Behind the scenes
The story of king Lerion was used by the playwright William Shakespeare as the basis for his play King Lear.[2]
