Leopold I (1790 – 1865) was the king of Belgium from 21 July 1831 until his death in 10 December 1865.
On 27 April 1865, his niece Queen Victoria wrote him a letter responding to his messages sent on the 23rd and 25th, asking him to never neglect a doctor's advice again, for it caused him to become quite sick. She also commented on the weather, the American news about Abraham Lincoln's assassination, and matchmaking among the European royals.[1]
