In 1868, the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye acquired a Lancaster pistol shortly after the former investigated a lead on the Templar banker Philip Twopenny, a lead that turned out to be his friend Sergeant Frederick Abberline of the Metropolitan Police Service.[1]
